POLEPOX - PUR CD 2K-E
Two-component, cold-applied, roll or trowel-based polyurea coating material developed for waterproofing. It is a fast-curing system specifically developed for application with roller or trowel. It features excellent elasticity and a specially formulated polymerized profile to enhance adhesion. It is an ideal product for environments requiring high levels of wear and impact resistance. For open areas, a PU-based flexible (aliphatic) topcoat must be applied.
Features and Advantages
- Fast curing in all weather conditions.
- Excellent thermal resistance.
- Simple application using brush or roller.
- No need for high-cost machines or specialized equipment.
- Forms a seamless membrane without joints when applied.
- Hydrophobic elastomeric-based.
- Provides water vapor permeability, allowing the surface to breathe.
- Easily repaired locally within minutes if damaged.
- Resistance to chemicals.
- Maintains mechanical properties over a temperature span of -40°C to +90°C.
Typical Applications
- Terraces and balconies.
- Bridges and tunnels.
- Wet areas.
- Foundations.
- Undertile applications.
- Concrete structures.
Surface Preparation and Priming
Surface Preparation: All surfaces must be free of oil, grease, and moisture before application. Clean the surface using a high-pressure washer to remove oil, grease, wax contaminants, cement laitance, loose particles, and mould release agents. Fill surface irregularities with appropriate products.
Priming: Prime absorbent and brittle concrete or cement screed with POLYURETHANE PRIMER or POLEPOX EPX 301 PRIMER (concrete moisture should not exceed 5%). A moisture barrier is suggested for damp concrete. Prime non-absorbent surfaces like metal, ceramic tiles, and old coatings with POLEPOX PU PRIMER 100.
Application Procedure
Mix component A with a low-speed mixer for a few minutes before use. Add component B into component A and stir at low speed for 3 to 5 minutes. Apply the mixture to the primed surface with a brush or roller in one or two layers. If required, a second layer can be applied 3 hours after the first layer. Do not exceed 3-4 hours between each coat.
