POLEPOX-PB 2000

Two-component, 1:1 ratio by volume, polyurethane (A) and bitumen (B) liquid membrane used for waterproofing and protection. It is a fast-curing, bitumen-extended polyurethane fluid. It produces a highly elastic membrane with strong adhesion to many types of surfaces and excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties. It is based on a pure elastomeric hydrophobic polyurethane resin extended with chemically polymerised virgin bitumen.

Recommended For

Waterproofing and protection of:

  • Gypsum and cement boards,
  • Polyurethane insulation foams,
  • Asphalt membranes and EPDM membranes,
  • Bathrooms and verandas/balconies (under tiles),
  • Flower pots and roof-top gardens,
  • Light roofing made of metal or fibrous cement,
  • Non-potable water tanks,
  • Basements and foundations,
  • Bridge platforms,
  • "Cut-and-cover" tunnels,
  • Irrigation channels.

Features & Benefits

  • Components easily mixed 1:1 by volume with fast curing.
  • Thick, bubble-free membrane possible.
  • Unmixed quantities can be stored for later use as it is a two-component product.
  • Low modulus provides excellent substrate crack-bridging properties.
  • Excellent adhesion on almost any surface with or without special primers.
  • No thinning required, but solvent may be used.
  • Excellent thermal resistance; max service temperature 80°C, max shock temperature 200°C.
  • Cold resistance; the film remains elastic even down to -40°C.
  • Outstanding mechanical properties: high elongation, tensile and tear strength, high abrasion resistance.
  • Good chemical resistance and water vapor barrier properties.

Application Prerequisites & Procedure

Substrates: Can be applied on concrete, fibrous cement, mosaic, cement roof tiles, well-adhered acrylic/asphalt coats, wood, corroded metal, and galvanized steel.

Surface Preparation: Clean the surface using a high-pressure washer if possible; remove oil, grease, and wax. Cement laitance, loose particles, and old membranes must be removed. Standard concrete conditions: Hardness R28=15Mpa, Humidity <10%, Temperature 5-35°C, Relative humidity <85%.

Application Procedure:

  • Priming: Choose primer from the Selection Table and follow its specific instructions.
  • Mixing: Mix equal volumes manually or with a low-speed (300 rpm) mixer.
  • Application: Apply immediately after mixing. Pot life is 30-45 mins at 20°C. Apply with brush, roller, spatula, or airless spraying.
